Creating a simple, AI-powered fitness app that stands out with its unique design and personalized features.

My Approach

I conducted research to understand user needs, designed streamlined user flows, and developed the high fidelity designs with innovative features like face-scan checkups and personalized diet plans.

About the Product

Prana AI is an AI-powered fitness app designed to make health management effortless. With features like AI face scan checkups, personalized diet plans, goal tracking, and health coach consultations, it offers a comprehensive approach to fitness.









My Role and Responsibilities in this Project

  • Conducted extensive user research to understand pain points in existing fitness apps.

  • Developed user personas and journey maps to guide our design decisions.

  • Created low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes.

  • Designed the UI/UX for the entire application.

  • Collaborated with my teammate on AI integration and backend development.

  • Conducted user testing sessions and iterated based on feedback.

  • Managed project timelines and milestones.












It always starts with a vision

Prana AI approached us with a clear goal: create an AI-driven fitness app that would stand out in a saturated market by offering users a personalized and seamless health management experience. They envisioned a tool that could help users track their health, plan their diets, and consult with experts—essentially becoming a pocket-sized health assistant.

Our task was to bring this vision to life, making the app feel accessible, engaging, and tailored to each user's unique fitness journey.














The Solution We Aimed to Deliver

  1. Personalized Health Plans: Tailored health plans to guide users on their wellness journey.

  2. Goals Tracker: A simple way for users to monitor and achieve their daily health goals.

  3. Expert Consultations: Access to online health coaches and mental health experts for personalized guidance.

  4. Event Organizer: A smart scheduler to ensure users never miss appointments or important events.

  5. Health Report Vault: A secure space to store and manage health reports, whether received offline or online.

  6. Flexible Subscription Plans: Customized plans that combine features to meet users' unique needs.









Thorough client documentation helped shape this project's direction.

In addition to the initial brief, the client provided an extensive set of documents detailing their requirements, brand guidelines, user personas, and business goals. These documents played a crucial role in helping us understand their vision and align our design strategy accordingly.

which is why we invested time in research before jumping into the design process.











Our target user group includes:











Research through interviews and surveys reveals the pain points and aspirations of users.











What we discovered became our north star:

  • Users sought simplicity—too much data overwhelmed them, so they wanted clear, actionable insights.

  • Personalization was key—people desired plans tailored to their unique health goals and circumstances.

  • Access to real health experts was important, but users wanted it to be optional, not mandatory, for consultations.

  • Motivation and progress tracking were essential—users wanted a way to stay accountable and see measurable improvements.

  • Convenience mattered—users wanted easy access to their health plans and data, ideally integrated into their daily routines.

  • Support for mental and emotional health was a priority—users wanted holistic health solutions that went beyond just fitness and diet.

  • Social features and community support were important—people wanted to connect with others on similar health journeys for encouragement and shared experiences.











Understanding begins with asking the right questions.

  • What type of health insights do you find easiest to understand and act on?

  • What kind of health insights do you find most actionable (e.g., daily tips, progress graphs)?

  • Can you describe a time when you felt overwhelmed by too much health data? What would have helped?

  • How would you describe your ideal personalized health plan?

  • Which factors (e.g., goals, medical history, lifestyle) do you think are most important for tailoring your health plan?

  • Would you prefer recommendations based on AI analysis, expert advice, or a combination of both?

  • How often would you like access to real health experts (e.g., daily, weekly, only as needed)?

  • Would optional expert consultations make you more likely to use the app regularly?

  • What kind of questions would you ask a health expert if the option was available?

  • On a scale of 1-10, how important is tracking your progress to staying motivated?

  • Which progress metrics (e.g., weight, energy level, mood) do you find most motivating?

  • Have you used apps or tools to track progress before? What worked or didn’t?

  • How often do you prefer to interact with your health app (e.g., daily, weekly)?

  • Would you find reminders or notifications helpful in staying consistent?

  • What features would make it easier to integrate the app into your daily routine?

  • What type of social interactions (e.g., sharing progress, encouragement) would motivate you most?

As Key features are the cornerstone of any product.













Feature 1: Prana Wellness Score


I started by getting to know each user's health through these 4 steps, so we could offer a personalized journey based on their health score.







In the first step, Prana AI used an API to scan users' faces and gather data such as their Heart rate, Blood Pressure, Stress Level and more.


The app’s unique feature allows users to scan their faces and receive quick feedback on their vitals, like heart rate and blood pressure. This feature was designed to make health tracking feel effortless.







I wanted to ensure users don’t feel frustrated at any step, so I carefully addressed every possible use case that could arise along the way.










The next phase presents a challenge, as we ask users a series of questions, I had to make user doesn't feel frustrated while completing this step.

Making This Step Easy and Enjoyable










Once all 4 steps are completed, a score is generated and categorized into three levels: Low, Moderate, and Good.

Based on the score, users are then recommended a personalized journey tailored to their results.













Feature 2: Online Health Consultations

Based on the user’s score, we recommend online health consultations. A curated list of partner coaches is provided to ensure users get the best guidance.










Simplifying the appointment booking process to just two steps reduces the time needed to complete the task, improves user experience, and boosts conversion rates—helping the business scale effortlessly.














Feature 3: AI generated health plans

Users with moderate or higher scores are recommended personalized routines crafted with the help of Machine learning.


These recommended goals can be added to Routines (a feature we'll explore next), allowing users to track their progress daily.











Feature 4: Prana Routine Tracker

This feature lets users set daily fitness or nutrition goals and track progress effortlessly.








Users receive detailed reports of their tracked data over three timeframes—daily, weekly, and monthly—enabling them to reflect on their progress and track improvements over time.














After a year of focused work, we successfully launched the MVP for beta testing.

Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with 92% of testers reporting increased motivation to work out regularly.












The app is undergoing continuous improvements by the development team and is not yet ready for public release.

We are continuously testing the app with selected users, gathering feedback, and iterating to ensure the best experience.











Branding the Prana AI Identity

In addition to designing the app, I also worked on creating Prana AI’s brand identity. This was an exciting opportunity to define a visual language that aligned with the app's core values of simplicity, personalization, and trust.





  • Brand Colors: We chose calming, health-focused colors that conveyed trust and wellness, while also feeling modern and fresh.






  • Typography: The font choices were clean, minimal, and easy to read, helping to make the app feel approachable and user-friendly.





  • Logo: The logo design reflected both the app’s technological backbone and its human-centered approach, blending a sleek, modern look with a hint of warmth.











Results and Impact

After a year of focused work, we successfully launched the MVP for beta testing. Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with 92% of testers reporting increased motivation to work out regularly. Health coaches also found the platform seamless for consultations, with many praising the easy scheduling and user interaction features. As we prepare for the public release, the app shows strong potential for success, with high engagement during the beta phase.
