The Challenge
Designing a food delivery app tailored for a Nigerian user base, leveraging Uber Eats as a reference to create a familiar and intuitive UX.
My Approach
Started with high-fidelity designs, focusing on intuitive user flow and essential features for three profiles: customer, delivery partner, and vendor.
*Hi-fi mockups highlighting the app's design and functionality.
Deadlines teach efficiency!
Due to time constraints, I skipped traditional wireframes and went straight into hi-fi designs. Using Uber Eats as a model streamlined my process while maintaining a high standard of usability. This approach allowed me to swiftly create an intuitive and visually cohesive app.
*Random screen mockup showcasing the final design of the customer app.
Tight timelines + pre-set branding = a fast track to polished designs x Multiple Iterations = Final Usable Product
It all began with studying the Uber Eats design, where I identified key takeaways to keep in mind while designing for Hunger Express:
Streamlined Navigation
Simpler Checkout
Design Efficiency
Visual Hierarchy
Targeted Content

Implementing key insights to the Hunger Express
Great apps have one thing in common: they streamline the user journey for a seamless experience.
4 stages to keep users informed throughout the process until their food is delivered!
But what happens if the rider can't deliver?
Seamless toggle between Delivery and Pickup options.
An "Edit Address" shortcut button was added to minimize cognitive load.
...even if you forget to update it directly from the homepage.
Multiple status indicators to keep users informed about each stage of the process.
The Story of Hunger Express
Started this project with a UK-based manager, I maintained a balance of professionalism and friendliness. This rapport allowed me to stay comfortable throughout the three months, making the entire design process smoother.
The manager was flexible with timing, letting me focus fully on the project while handling developer queries. His proactive approach took unnecessary tasks off my plate, allowing me to concentrate on delivering quality designs.
*Working on the application design during my workation in Udaipur.
What made this project enjoyable was the swift feedback loop.
The client was responsive, which kept us aligned and allowed rapid iterations. Their clarity helped me stay on track and kept things fun.
Design isn’t just for the end user—it’s for everyone in the ecosystem.
From customers to delivery riders to restaurant teams, every profile deserves thoughtful solutions.
For the Delivery Partner App, I aimed to create a straightforward and easy-to-use interface for drivers to:
Accept and manage orders with real-time notifications.
View delivery routes optimized with location tracking and maps.
Complete deliveries and manage payments.
* Mockup of the homepage from the Delivery Partner app.
Eliminated friction, empowered drivers to focus on seamless and efficient deliveries.
One job at a time = seamless, stress-free rides for delivery partners, ensuring efficiency and focus.
User Control & Freedom: Accept jobs on your terms, whenever you're ready :)
The Vendor App provided restaurant owners with tools to manage incoming orders in real-time, from preparation to dispatch.
*Mockup of the homepage from the Restaurant Owner app module.
Good design ensures users can use powerful tools with ease, managing everything confidently without confusion!
Every design evolves—feedback is the key to refining and improving the first version.
Key revisions included:
Adjusting the layout for easier navigation on the homepage.
Refining the order tracking feature to enhance user engagement post-order.
Refining usability with small tweaks for a more intuitive experience.
Expanding with additional use cases and edge cases for better functionality.
